This is the second Primera 2.0eGT I have owned. Sadly the first one is scattered across the UK and USA. I am currently breaking it and selling the parts from it. I have sold some parts to the USA thanks to the G20 forum, other parts have been sold in the UK through the Primera owner's Club. The Primera is sold in the USA as the Infiniti G20. The model I have is known as a P10 as that is Nissan's designation for the model. It was produced from May 1990 to June 1996 in hatchback and saloon forms. It was also produced from July 1990 to January 1998 in estate form. All body shapes had three engine options, 1.6 or 2.0 petrol and 2.0 diesel. The USA only got the saloon (sedan), and with only one engine option; the SR20DE, this is the same engine as fitted to my Primera but with slight differences. I have some specifications for the Primera engine. The differences between the Primera eGT and G20 engine are the exhaust manifold/header, intake camshaft and cylinder head. The head has sodium filled exhaust valves and the compression ratio is slightly higher on the engine (10:1 compared to 9.5:1). The intake camshaft is the same in the low port Primera eGT as the earlier high port engines, this mod is known for an increase of around 8 whp in low port G20s. The exhaust manifold/header is of a free flowing design. |
